Intro to BYOC (Bring Your Own Carrier)

Learn how Bring Your Own Carrier (BYOC) allows you to connect your existing phone numbers or carrier directly to Maqsam while maintaining flexibility and control.

🔍 Overview of Bring Your Own Carrier (BYOC)

At Maqsam, we believe in flexibility and control. That’s why we offer Bring Your Own Carrier (BYOC). This feature allows you to connect your existing phone numbers or carrier directly to Maqsam by establishing a connection between Maqsam’s network and your network.

In other words, BYOC allows you to:

  • Keep your own number

  • Access all Maqsam features

  • Maintain control over your telephony setup

⚙️ Technical Requirements

To get started with BYOC, please make sure the following technical requirements are in place on your end.

For SIP or PRI connections:

  • Static IP address

  • IPsec VPN

  • Voice gateway (required only for PRI connections)

💡 Maqsam’s technical team will guide you through the process from our side. However, your team must have the technical expertise of a voice engineer to complete the configuration on your end.

⌛ Setup Timeline

If all technical requirements are met as listed above, the following setup timeline can be achieved. If not, the setup may take longer depending on when the requirements are fulfilled.

Stage Description Estimated Duration
Kick-off Technical teams from both Maqsam and the client meet to align the technicalities of the set up. 5 Days
Configuration Both teams work together to establish connectivity by setting up a SIP Trunk. 5 Days
Testing & Deployment Client tests the connection, and once approved, the service is deployed. 2 Days

💡 The setup timeline may vary depending on how quickly all technical requirements are fulfilled.

⚙️ Configuration Options

Your BYOC setup can be configured in one of the following ways:

  • Direct Connection: A straightforward connection between your carrier and Maqsam.

  • IPsec Tunnel: A secure, encrypted tunnel that provides an additional layer of protection.
